Quick tips for healthy hair:
Keep your scalp healthy:
A healthy and nourished scalp will automatically lead to a good head of hair. Dandruff is a common problem that leads to hair fall and makes the scalp look oily and the hair dry. A quick, easy and cheap solution for this can be found in your kitchen!
a) Olive Oil:
Reach out for some olive oil. Pour out about a tablespoon worth in a microwaveable bowl and heat it for 30 seconds. Add a dash of lemon juice to this and using your finger tips, gently massage this mix all over your scalp. You needn’t put this on your hair shaft as long as you are making sure that our scalp is covered by this concoction. Leave this on for at least 15 minutes before shampooing.
b) Castor Oil:
If you have some castor oil handy, this is the best solution for all your scalp woes. But because castor oil is very thick in consistency, you will need to add three parts olive oil to one part castor oil. Mix the two oils together and heat in the microwave for 30 seconds. Shampoo as in the step above.
You will love the fact that you need to shampoo only a couple of times to get this off your scalp and your hair will feel hydrated and healthy and shiny!
Sleep on a silk pillowcase:
This is a tried and tested trick which does wonders to not just your hair but also your skin!
a) Shinier Hair:
The smooth texture of silk prevents tangles and breakage of hair as your hair glides on it while you sleep, without any friction at all. Since satin won’t absorb the moisture from your hair, your hair will stay smooth, hydrated and shiny when you sleep on satin pillowcases.
Less tangles means less frizz too!
b) Less Hair Breakage:
Sleeping on a satin pillowcase can help prevent hair breakage. Cotton is not as smooth as satin, and it can create friction between your hair and the pillow whereas satin pillowcases cause way less friction, which means you will have less hair breakage.
c) Avoid Hair Loss:
Not only can satin pillowcases keep your hair from breaking, they can also help prevent hair loss. Having your hair constantly rub against the pillow can result in hair loss. However, satin pillowcases are effective at preventing hair loss.
Eat healthy and drink lots of water:
The golden rule – what you eat directly impacts your health, your appearance and your mood. Keep it light and healthy, packed with vitamins and minerals. Stay away from deep fried, oily and sweetened food. Make sure your diet is well balanced with fruits, vegetables, grains, good fats and healthy carbohydrates.
The importance of drinking LOTS of water throughout the day cannot be emphasized enough. We need the water to not only keep hydrated but also to wash away all the toxins that enter our body for various
